It’s one thing to prefer one brand to another but to dedicate oneself to the success of a brand while raising 3 kids at the same time? That’s something remarkable! Meet Liisi Nkonde, one of the original founders of a social media community dedicated to Breden Kids. This unique combination of an online marketplace and a chatroom now has over 21 000 members already.
Liisi, when did you first learn about Breden Kids? What were your first products?
When my 5-year-old son Illimar was about a year old, I came across a casting call that was searching for cute clothing models. I didn’t know anything about Breden but applied anyway. As I didn’t get picked, I soon forgot about it. Then Breden contacted me instead and apologized for not seeing my pictures on time. They asked me to come to their photoshoot and that was the beginning of our beautiful friendship. The warmth, passion and the will to improve is something that I really love about Breden people. Our first product was a double-cotton baby hat HAPPY with the print of dark blue vehicles. Photoshoot was dedicated to pink and blue monsters and black-white bunnies.
What initiated the creation of Breden Kids marketplace and chatroom?
Breden’s marketplace has always been so much more than just a buying-selling mom group. It’s all about the discussions, emotions and anticipation of new products, prints and campaigns. We often notice things before they get posted on Breden’s own social media. That’s always fun. Makes us feel special! I strongly feel that I can evolve as a mother with the help of Breden. I have learned to know and take care of different fabrics, make them last long and stay beautiful. And of course, which materials are best for babies, how to combine them and so on… I believe in their cause, I love that they pay attention to detail, provide decent salaries to their own people and communicate with customers very personally.
Can you offer an explanation why Breden’s community became so popular so fast?
One reason is definitely the quality of Breden’s products. They can be used and sold many times over and that’s why they maintain their value even after being "loved" by many kids. It’s all about saving money and being sustainable. Besides, there are always new moms just starting out and getting to know Breden’s products. Some rare prints and sold out products can only be found in our group. It’s a way of life, it’s an ultimate Breden experience.
What does the Breden experience mean to you?
It’s a combination of many things. First of all, Breden’s customer service wizard Laura. No problem is too big for her, everything gets solved right away. The communication is impeccable and they really consider and take feedback very seriously. Then of course the products themselves - functional, double-sized, safe and skin-friendly high quality materials. Breden makes items that you didn’t even know you needed, things that are created to make your life easier. Their motto is #parentingmadeeasy, after all!
What does #parentingmadeeasy mean to you?
Hat-scarves. We don’t have any hats, only hat-scarves in every color and print possible. And then there are ofcourse our favorite outdoor sweats and merino-silk baby products. I've come to understand that it’s possible to influence Breden’s product and print choices if explained and approached properly. I've never seen anything like it before.
If you think about potential Breden super fans abroad? Should someone start a similar community in Germany? Or Finland? Or Italy?
I think definitely someone should. Thinking about the future, producing sustainably, going green. Your brand ambassador program is very exciting. I hope you’ll find a lot of new fans all over the world!
